Faking Injuries

I recently saw a video that shows soccer players learning to fake injuries. It's pretty funny because it's so true. Soccer is the only sport that I can think of where it has become a popular strategy to act like a weakling.
I especially noticed it while watching the Olympics. I think it is a terrible thing for the sport. I have also seen it being introduced into other sports like basketball. Players like Manu Ginobili (who I'm sure learned the art of the flop playing soccer in Argentina) are known for their flopping. I think it is a weak way to try and win a game.
I am calling on all soccer players to stop the flop. We all need to learn to take a hit and stay on our feet. There have been a lot of goals scored by players who fight to stay up and keep playing until the whistle blows. Maybe I'll post my thoughts on complaining and whining in soccer next. What do you all think?
PS: Why is it that players always grab their shin when they go down? Does it make it look like an extra-serious injury?
